Once again work has been so busy that I forgot to do a journal entry last week. It was our final presentation of the Blue Denim scene with Lukas. For me, things seemed to have clicked. I had raised the stakes on my trigger which really helped a lot. The other trigger had worked, but I felt that it was getting a little stale. Lukas had also changed some of his crafting, so when I entered I had to adjust to his new circumstances. Overall, feedback was positive and I felt good about the work.
This week my new scene partner and I, Deb Wims (who was a guest repeater a few weeks ago) did our full exercise for our next scene from Dark at the Top of the Stairs. Deb’s energy is quite different from what I have grown used to with other classmates, and it was challenging to identify her behavior. Our circumstances seemed to have worked, although I did get the note that I wasn’t pursuing anything, which I agree with. What Rubin (my character) wants is for his wife to return a dress. There was no dress, and I was having a difficult time trying to figure out how to accomplish my goal, while at the same time repeating.
Looking forward to adding text next week, though I’m not looking forward to memorizing the scene – it’s fairly long and I am trying to learn The Humans as well as get Wit going. This is what I signed up for, though, and I’m enjoying all of the projects immensely.
