Meisner Class Journal 5.21.24

Last night we had a guest repeater. Georgeanna Smith Wade joined us and over the course of 75 minutes or so repeated with all of us. It was a lot of fun to have someone who has been using the technique for a long time work with us, and it definitely brought some exciting energy into the room. Kept me (and everyone else) on their toes. Georgeanna kept things moving at a very fast pace – faster than we were used to – and was very observant about calling out our behavior, oftentimes faster than we were able to respond. Many of our old habits began to resurface. For example, I found myself wanting to lead the exercise whenever it started going in a direction I was unprepared for. After she left, we did a rotating version of this and it was really interesting to see how much faster and free with behavioral observations everyone was. We have next week off, then the following week we add another skill to the repetition. I’m looking forward to both.
