Meisner Class Journal 6.25.25

Class on Monday was ok. We were in the large classroom, where we first started classes. This was the penultimate O’Neill class. Overall my scene with Mariah went ok. I thought we did better last week. I personally was having a difficult time preparing, and at one point during the scene I felt lost and got in my head. There is still work to do on some of my Hot Who’s, and doings.

I’ve enjoyed working with Mariah, but it’s been challenging trying to find time to rehearse, and when we do rehearse it is on Facetime. We were supposed to meet for a second time on Sunday, but due to conflicts on both our parts our rehearsal time kept getting re-scheduled and we ended up not meeting at all that day. It would be better for me to be able to meet in person – the only time we have to actually get the scene on our feet is in class. Plus, Mariah has a lot of distractions at her house (kids, roommates, etc.) that make our rehearsals challenging. This does not excuse my challenge with finding time myself to do independent work, just a reality that must be contended with.

Even though I feel that there is so much more to glean from the O’Neill scene, I’m ready to put it behind me.
